On the New York Times web site (on Wednesday morning 8/24/2011), there is a picture of Libyan rebels, accompanying a story about the turmoil in that country. I have been wondering for a while where and how these rebels got brand new AK47 rifles (or similar). In the background, I see a young man on a motorcycle of some kind, another young man with a headband or bandanna that looks like it has a white star on blue background and a red stripe, and a wall in the background with some graffito that reads “muamer love ham”. Is that an insult? What kind of rebels are these? And these rebels took down an army?
