On the New York Times web site (on Wednesday morning 8/24/2011), there is a picture of Libyan rebels, accompanying a story about the turmoil in that country. I have been wondering for a while where and how these rebels got brand new AK47 rifles (or similar). In the background, I see a young man on a motorcycle of some kind, another young man with a headband or bandanna that looks like it has a white star on blue background and a red stripe, and a wall in the background with some graffito that reads “muamer love ham”. Is that an insult? What kind of rebels are these?  And these rebels took down an army? View high resolution
